DEVELOPMENT HISTORY OF CLASSICAL SWINE FEVER VACCINE IN CHINA


1900: de sehweinitz and Dorset first proved that classical swine fever virus (CSFV) was a filtering virus;

1908: after Hungary hutyra koves made the high immunity serum of CSFV, people have been immunizing pigs with the high immunity serum and blood virus at the same time, but there is a risk of spreading the virus;

1949-1957: China successfully developed the crystal violet glycerin inactivated vaccine. The vaccine was made by infecting pigs with strong CSFV virus and inactivating pig blood with crystal violet. It was the first vaccine put into use in China;

In 1954, Zhou Taichong and other scholars of the Chinese Veterinary Medicine Supervision Institute successfully cultivated the rabbit attenuated strain of classical swine fever, namely the Chinese "C strain", which is internationally recognized as a safe and effective vaccine strain. It played a decisive role in controlling the epidemic of classical swine fever in China and was widely used abroad;

1956: China comprehensively popularized the wet vaccine made from the rabbit spleen and lymph nodes of classical swine fever attenuated vaccine;

In 1958, the rabbit attenuated lyophilized vaccine of CSFV was successfully developed and became a powerful tool for the prevention and control of CSFV in China;

In 1964, the attenuated CSFV virus was inoculated to suckling rabbits, and the milk rabbit vaccine was successfully developed. Since 1965, it has been applied in the whole country. The attenuated CSFV vaccine made from rabbit spleen or milk rabbit tissue is collectively referred to as live CSFV vaccine (rabbit source);

In 1965, cattle were inoculated with the rabbit attenuated virus of classical swine fever, and the bovine body reaction vaccine (bovine spleen and lymph node) was successfully developed;

1974: the rabbit attenuated vaccine of classical swine fever was successfully cultured in primary porcine kidney cells by Heilongjiang Veterinary Research Institute;

1980: China successfully developed the sheep kidney cell vaccine against classical swine fever;

1982: the kidney cell vaccine of CSFV milk goat was successfully developed;

1985: the live vaccine of CSFV calf testis cells was successfully developed, i.e. CSFV live vaccine (cytoplasmic source), which opened a new way for the production of CSFV vaccine in China;

In 2008, China Institute of veterinary medicine and Guangdong Yongshun biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. cooperated to produce classical swine fever vaccine with porcine fetal testis passage cells (st cell line) and obtained the approval of the Ministry of agriculture. Subsequently, the technology was transferred to 8 domestic animal vaccine production units (including Hanzhong Bo biological Co., Ltd.);

In 2009, the porcine testis clonal cell vaccine (STK vaccine for short) successfully developed by Luoyang proke Bioengineering Co., Ltd. was approved by the Ministry of agriculture;

Research on new vaccine of classical swine fever: recombinant vaccine, subunit vaccine, labeled vaccine and nucleic acid vaccine of classical swine fever are all at the stage of experimental research.
